4 Steps to Healthy Teeth This Easter

The Spring season is here, and the Tigers will soon play baseball at Comerica Park; all is well in the Motor City. In Livonia, Redford, and all the West Side, we are ready for spring and the upcoming Easter season!

It’s a great time of year to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and focus on our health. Dental health is particularly important as Easter approaches, with its chocolate bunnies and candy eggs!

Dr. Jim DeCapite wants everyone in Detroit and beyond, to take the following four steps that will help keep teeth healthy this spring and all year round:

  • Limit the holiday candy: Easter time is so much fun, with egg hunts and family gatherings. Easter also means a lot of chocolate and candy eggs. Enjoy a few treats, but keep it limited. Sweets are delicious but too many is not good for healthy teeth.
  • Enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables: Fresh, raw fruits and vegetables can be just as sweet and tasty as candy. An apple satisfies the taste buds and helps keep teeth clean and healthy!
  • Remember to floss and brush: After indulging Easter treats, flossing, and brushing are especially important. Ask Jim DeCapiteabout proper flossing and brushing techniques that will keep teeth and gums healthy.
  • Schedule a spring season dental cleaning: Spring is the perfect time of year to schedule that dental cleaning. While brushing and flossing every day will keep mouths healthy, a thorough dental cleaning takes it all one step further. A professional cleaning with DeCapite Family and Cosmetic Dentistry leaves the mouth healthy and the teeth ready for a beautiful spring smile.

At DeCapite Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, we want to help our patients take positive steps to personal dental care. We are excited about maintaining good dental health throughout spring and the rest of the year.

We are conveniently located in Livonia, just north of I 96, near the intersection of Schoolcraft and Merriman Roads. We accept new patients and, of course, all emergencies. Call the office today to set an appointment!
